KOSÉ Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the “Company") recognizes the importance of proper handling of personal information protection and strives to ensure that customers and others can use the Company’s products, various services, etc. with a peace of mind. The handling of personal information by the Company is described below.

Chapter 1. Purpose of use of personal information

The Company uses personal information such as the name, address, telephone number, date of birth, and email address, and information such as the transaction status with the Company, as information to identify of customers, officers and employees of each business partner, shareholders, officers, employees, and other members of the Company, and applicants for employment to the Company (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Customers, etc."), for the following purposes.

  6. To provide point services operated by the KOSÉ Group
  7. To have customers post and view, etc. reviews of the KOSÉ Group’s products
  8. To manage the counseling history and purchase history of the KOSÉ Group’s products
  9. In addition to the previous items, for purposes for which the prior consent of the customer has been obtained

  6. For consideration of and activities for the improvement of recruitment activities of the Company and the KOSÉ Group (including the implementation of questionnaires, etc.)

Chapter 2. Joint use of personal information

The Company will jointly use the below personal information and other information for the following purposes.

1. Information about customers

The Company will jointly use information about customers with the KOSÉ Group and stores that handle the KOSÉ Group’s products used by customers (hereinafter referred to as "Distributors") as follows.

(1) When jointly using with the KOSÉ Group

A. Purpose of joint use
  1. ①For sales, shipping, and responding to inquiries of the KOSÉ Group’s products
  2. ②To reflect the opinions and requests of customers in improving the KOSÉ Group’s products and services.
  3. ③To provide beauty information, new product information, event information, and other information regarding the KOSÉ Group's business by direct mail, email, telephone, etc.
  4. ④To conduct surveys and analyses for marketing purposes such as policy planning and product development related to the KOSÉ Group's business
  5. ⑤For credit management, and claim management and collection related to transactions with the KOSÉ Group
  6. ⑥To provide point services operated by the KOSÉ Group
  7. ⑦To have customers post and view reviews, etc. of the KOSÉ Group’s products
  8. ⑧To manage the counseling history and the purchase history of the KOSÉ Group’s products (including for the purpose of displaying customer information that was registered on a recording medium in the past at a Distributor used by the customer to support such customer in newly entering their information on a tablet device or other recording medium of another Distributor)
  9. ⑨In addition to the previous items, for purposes for which the prior consent of the customer has been obtained

  2. ②Counseling history, skin information, and transaction status information with the Company

Chapter 3. Provision of personal information to third parties

  1. The Company will use the personal information obtained from the Customers, etc. only within the scope of the purpose of use described in this Privacy Policy. The Company will not provide an individual’s personal information to third parties, except in the following cases.
    1. When deemed necessary by laws and regulations
    2. When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent
    3. When especially necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of children's sound development, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent
    4. When necessary to cooperate with a national institution or a local public entity or a person entrusted thereby in carrying out the affairs stipulated by laws and regulations, and obtaining the individual’s consent may interfere with carrying out such affairs
    5. When the individual has consented
  2. The Company will not provide an individual’s information to a third party in a foreign country, except in the following cases.
    1. When deemed necessary by laws and regulations
    2. When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent
    3. When especially necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of children's sound development, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent
    4. When necessary to cooperate with a national institution or other entity in carrying out the affairs stipulated by laws and regulations, and obtaining the individual’s consent may interfere with carrying out such affairs
    5. When providing personal information to a third party in a country specified by the Rules of the Personal Information Protection Commission as a foreign country recognized as being at a level equivalent to that of as Japan in protecting the rights and interests of individuals
    6. When the implementation of measures in accordance with the purpose of the provisions of Chapter 4, Section 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information is ensured by an appropriate and reasonable method with the person who will be receiving the personal information
    7. When the recipient is certified under an international framework regarding the handling of personal information
    8. When the individual has consented
  3. The Company may entrust the handling of personal information to a third party to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use described in Section 1. In that case, the Company will conclude a "nondisclosure agreement" regarding personal information with such third party and will strictly manage and guide the handling of the entrusted personal information.
  4. If the Company provides personal information to a third party, the Company will record the matters regarding such provision in accordance with the laws and regulations. In addition, when the Company receives personal information from a third party, the Company will confirm and record the matters regarding such provision in accordance with the laws and regulations.

Chapter 4. Disclosure, correction, deletion, etc. of personal information

  1. If there is a request for the disclosure of personal data held by the Company from an individual or their agent, the Company will respond by mail after receiving such call. However, the Company cannot give notification regarding the personal information of the Customer, etc. if any of the following applies.
    1. When there is a risk of harming the rights or interests of the Customer, etc. or a third party
    2. When there is a risk of significantly interfering with the Company's business operations
    3. When there is otherwise a risk of violating laws and regulations
  2. The actual cost will be separately charged as a fee for each request for disclosure by the Customer, etc.
    Fee: 624 yen (tax included) for each application
    * Standard postage (84 yen) + registered mail (435 yen) + ID confirmation delivery service (105 yen).
    Payment method: Please enclose postage stamps totaling 624 yen with the application documents.
    * If the postage changes, the fee for the request for disclosure will also be changed. A copy of a government-issued identification card (driver's license, health insurance card, passport, residence certificate (jyuminhyo), etc.) to identify the individual is required for a request for notification from the Customer, etc.. In addition, the Company may not be able to give notification due to unavoidable reasons.
  3. For the disclosure, correction, deletion, suspension of use, removal, or suspension of provision to third parties of the Customer, etc.'s personal information, please download the "Application for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, deletion, etc. of personal information." Please fill in the necessary information and mail it to the inquiry window regarding personal information provided below. (If an agent will be applying on behalf of the customer, please also mail a "Power of Attorney.")

* No fees will be charged for the correction, deletion, suspension of use, removal, or suspension of provision to third parties of personal information.
